Container programme, not next-day delivery
The UK is well served by stockists who hold edge guards and corner boards on the shelf and deliver the next working day. A manufacturer weeks away by sea is not competing with that, and should not pretend to.
What we offer is different: a written specification for each size, a price agreed for the year, and containers planned around your usage. It suits a business that uses tens of thousands of edge protectors a month in a small number of sizes, and would rather hold a container of stock than pay stockist margin on every pallet.
What we make, in UK terms
Edge protectors, cardboard edge protectors, edgeboard, corner protectors and edge guards are all the same L-profile board of laminated kraft. We make them from 30x30 to 100x100 mm leg and 2.5 to 8 mm thickness, in 3 to 12 ply, cut to any length. We also make U-profile edge guards for panel and sheet bundles, wrap-around boards and a self-adhesive version.
UK packaging EPR, briefly
Under the UK’s extended producer responsibility rules for packaging, a UK business with a turnover of £1 million or more that supplies or imports more than 25 tonnes of packaging a year has obligations. Supplying empty packaging — which is what an edge protector is — is one of the activities that counts. The obligation sits with the UK business, not with us, but you will need data from us to meet it: material, weight per piece and weight per shipment. That is on every packing list. No. We supply by the container on a planned programme. For next-day top-ups, a UK stockist is the right partner; many of our buyers use both.
Yes. Material, weight per piece and weight per shipment are on every packing list, broken down by size.
No. ISPM-15 applies to wood packaging. Our edge protectors and pallets are paper.
Duty is as applicable at the time of import. We share the HS classification so your customs broker can confirm it before shipment; we do not publish rates.
