Glass, Ceramic & Stone Edge Protection
The highest-value use of an edge protector there is: the product itself is the edge, and a chipped edge is a rejected consignment.

01The problem, specifically
Where the damage actually happens
Glass sheets, tiles, sanitaryware and stone slabs travel on edge. The edge is simultaneously the strongest part of the sheet under compression and the most fragile under a point load. A single strap landing directly on unprotected glass concentrates its entire tension onto a line a few millimetres wide.
Point loading from strapping
Strap tension on a bare sheet edge is a chip waiting to happen, and one chip propagates across the sheet.
Breakage is discovered late
Damage inside a bundle is often only found at installation, by which point the replacement cost includes labour and delay.
Bundle edges are flat, not square
A stack of sheets presents a flat exposed edge, which an L profile only half covers.
Moisture marks the surface
Where damp board sits against glass or polished stone for days, it leaves a mark that has to be cleaned off.
02What we supply
The build that works here
This is the classic U-channel application: a channel sized to the bundle thickness caps the flat edge on three sides, so the strap lands on board and not on glass. On sheet stacks and slab crates the combination is a U profile on the long exposed edges with L boards on the vertical corners. Higher ply counts earn their cost here more clearly than anywhere else - the comparison is not against a cheaper board, it is against a broken slab.

03Compliance
What applies here, and what does not
Nothing industry-specific applies, but export consignments benefit twice: the paper pallet is outside ISPM-15, and a fully paper unit load can be disposed of by the consignee in one stream rather than separating timber from board.
04Where this sector sits
Ghaziabad and the surrounding belt
The Bulandshahr Road belt in Ghaziabad and the Jaipur stone and handicraft cluster are the two concentrations we see most of this work from.
Ghaziabad is 51 km from our plant by road — about 50 min in clear traffic.

05Questions buyers ask
Questions from glass, ceramic & stone buyers
U for the flat exposed bundle edge, L for the vertical corners of the crate or stack. Most glass despatches use both.
By the bundle thickness plus clearance. Tell us how many sheets go in a bundle and their individual thickness.
Dry kraft against polished stone is normally fine. Prolonged damp contact can mark, as it can with any board. Where your lane involves open transport or long yard storage, say so and we will advise.
Yes - up to 12 ply and 8 mm thickness in 450 GSM kraft. For fragile high-value loads this is where we usually start rather than where we stop.
Tell us what you ship, not just what you need
The specification comes out of the load: what is on the pallet, how high it stacks, how hard it is strapped and where it goes. Give us those and the quote comes back with a spec on it.
